Australian PM Visits Jakarta Smart City

Minister for Finance and Public Services, Mathias Cormann along with his ranks visited the Jakarta Smart City (JSC) at JSC Lounge, Jakarta City Hall, Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan, Gambir, Central Jakarta, Thursday (11/1).

The visit itself was officially welcomed by Jakarta Communication, Informatic, and Statistic Dept. Acting Head, Atika Nur Rahmania.

Commission A Wants to Speed Up Addition of CCTVIn the meantime, JSC Management Unit Head, Setiaji uttered that the visit was held to discuss the public service improvements and new technology applications.
"They shared their experiences in involving community and high education, as well as some transparency. We also talked about CCTV, data sharing, and so forth," he stated.
Aside that, the discussion was an exploration in opening opportunities for cooperation between the Jakarta Provincial Government and the Australian Government, especially investments through the Public Private Partnership (PPP) scheme.
"We inform what is being done in Jakarta and the opportunities for cooperation to the mechanism that needs to be done," he expressed.
Currently, in Jakarta, there are a number of urban development masterplan, as well as ongoing and upcoming infrastructure projects that could be potentially be of interest to Australian businesses.
"It is an opportunity for them to collaborate with Jakarta Provincial Government, especially in infrastructure development in Jakarta, such as the MRT, LRT and others," he stated.
